I am a life-long boater who has worked for boat-builders such as Catalina Yachts and Arey’s Pond Boat Works. I culminated my sailing instructor days by teaching on 27’ Olympic-class Solings for Offshore Sailing School in Newport, RI. My mechanical skills began with fixing lawnmower engines but now I’d much rather work on boat electrical systems and small diesel engines. I sailed for the Providence College sailing team and have written a book about learning to sail entitled “Sailing the Straightest Course.” As a 22-year old sales manager, I was the boat broker who successfully mitigating the landmark deal that got Providence Community Boating its initial fleet of Day Sailors in Providence, Rhode Island. I’m a member of the American Boat and Yacht Council as well as a few other specialized marine organizations. I was once hired by West Marine as an associate only to be let go on day 58 of my 60-day trial period. The reason they gave me was that I didn’t know enough. A few years later, I was rehired and quickly became part of their management team at the main Marina Del Rey store. Within 5 weeks of my being rehired, I passed all 12 of their tech exams. I am a graduate of Harken University – a prestigious training seminar done in beautiful Peewaukee, Wisconsin. I’ve also worked for the Boat Yard (in Marina Del Rey, CA), the US Census Bureau & as well as few Southern California mortgage companies. My most notable bartender experience was at Benihana in Santa Monica where I was head bartender for 4 years. I’m an avid book reader and don’t own a TV. This is my second website bur first in my heart.
